On Transcendence – Episode 0001
Guest: Dr. Fred Travis
Host: Dr. Baruti KMT-Sisouvong
Title: When Science Meets Stillness
In this inaugural episode of On Transcendence, I sit down with Dr. Fred Travis—neuroscientist, author, and Director of the Center for Brain, Consciousness, and Cognition at Maharishi International University.
Our discussion explores how decades of research on the Transcendental Meditation (TM) technique reveal a distinctive neural signature of transcendence—the quiet coherence that links subjective experience to objective measurement.
Together, we examine how the brain integrates pure consciousness into daily life, how silence fuels creativity, and how enlightenment may represent not a mystical abstraction but a measurable stage of human development.
This conversation bridges ancient insight and modern neuroscience—a dialogue between science and spirit, between data and direct experience.
